Cleaning the Egg

You can find information for both the Crystal Egg and Jade Egg below...

How do I sterilize the Crystal Egg before use?

When you first get your crystal egg, wash it with water and body friendly soap - something natural with minimal scent as you don't want residue or build up to live on the egg (Dr. Bronner's is great!) Give your egg a good rinse when it arrives, and you'll be ready for your practice. Don't worry about boiling the egg, as borosilicate glass isn't mined.

How do I sterilize the Jade Egg before use?
When you first get your egg, you want to boil it for 10 minutes to sterilize it. However, don't over boil your egg - you want the water to be right on a boil. Monitor the heat levels and make sure that the boiling water is about 100 degrees Celsius. Once the water boils, you can turn down the heat so that it is boiling just at the right level. Make sure the egg has cooled before you touch it, and definitely before you use it internally!

How do I clean the Crystal Egg after each practice?

To clean the egg after each use, simply wash it with water and body friendly soap. Be sure to run water through the hole to really cleanse it out to rid the hole of any pussy juice! If you have a faucet with strong water pressure, this is best. Store in a safe spot until your next use.

How do I clean the Jade Egg after each practice?
To clean the egg after each use, you can put a few drops of pharmaceutical grade Betadine or Iodine in a glass of water and drop the egg in. Then rinse it off and store for next use. Be sure to run water through the hole to really cleanse it out. If you have a faucet with strong water pressure, this is best. Or, you can rinse off the egg after each practice and then drop it in boiling water for a few seconds before the next practice, making sure to let it cool before insertion!

Can I clean my egg simply by rinsing and wiping with an alcohol swab?
We don’t recommend this (please see above for proper cleaning procedures). Things like alcohol can be quite irritating for the body and cause the pussy to not want (or be able) to hold the egg inside.

Do I have to string the egg? And do you restring the egg at each practice?
In the beginning as you are getting used to the egg, it is recommended that you string it for easy removal. Once you feel comfortable with it and confident that you can get it out, you don’t have to string the egg. To get it out you can either lay it like a Goddess Chicken of Pleasure, let it come out on its own if you want to wear it around for a little while, or you can pull it out with your fingers.
